Tired of your kick and 808 fighting for low – end real estate? I found a wild fix today.
We’ve all been there: you dial in a heavy kick, drop in a subby bassline, and suddenly your low end turns into pure mud. Slapping a conventional sidechain compressor on the track often chokes the life out of your bass or creates that unnatural pumping effect that totally kills your groove. That is where RMSC steps into your signal chain to solve the headache.
Why RMSC is a Game-Changer for Your Mix & Workflow
Instead of simply ducking gain like every standard sidechain plugin on the market, RMSC uses ring modulation to carve out clean sonic space. Here is why this plugin earns a permanent spot on your mix bus:
- Smarter Low-End Separation: Uses ring modulation to target clashing frequencies directly instead of squashing the entire volume envelope of your bassline.
- Instant Mix Headroom: Frees up massive headroom on the master bus by keeping your kick punchy and your low frequencies tightly controlled.
- Zero Pumping Artifacts: Retains the natural bounce and drive of your rhythm section without the dull, breathing sidechain sound.
- Featherweight on CPU: At just over 20 MB, it loads fast and runs smooth, letting you throw it across multiple tracks without choking your session.
⚡ Pro Producer Tip: Frequency-Targeted Sub Ducking
Don’t slap this across the entire bass channel if you want the high-end grit to stay upfront. Split your bass into low and high bands, then insert RMSC strictly on the sub-bass lane. Your kick will knock through clean on the bottom while the mid-range bite of your bass stays glued right in the pocket.
