Tired of nasty resonances tearing your listener’s ears off? I found a fix that won’t cost you a single cent.
We’ve all been there late at night: you’re trying to push a vocal forward to sit right on top of the beat, but every time you crank the high-end air, you get hit with harsh whistling frequencies between 3 kHz and 6 kHz. Slapping on static notch filters only guts your tone, leaving the performance sounding hollow, thin, and drained of all its vibe. Dynamic spectral suppression is the secret sauce modern pros use to clean up that clutter, but high-end plugins usually charge an arm and a leg.
Enter GLOAM – an intuitive, free automatic resonance suppressor that does the heavy lifting while keeping the life inside your tracks intact.
Why GLOAM is a Game-Changer for Your Mix & Workflow
GLOAM listens to your incoming audio, detects the exact frequencies that jump out and ring excessively, and ducks them down only while they are causing trouble. The moment the ringing stops, your full signal returns untouched.
Here is what makes this plugin a must-have weapon in your rack:
- Intelligent Dynamic Ducking: Tames offensive spikes on the fly without flattening the natural dynamics of the performance.
- Safe-Guards Low-End & Harmonics: The algorithm is built to protect sustained notes under 250 Hz – your thick 808s, warm sub-bass, and rich vocal fundamentals stay punchy and untouched.
- Deep Surgical Control: Fine-tune the behavior with Depth, Sharpness, and Selectivity controls, complete with Soft and Hard operational modes.
- Instant Delta Audition: Tap the Delta switch to hear strictly the junk being stripped away, guaranteeing you never over-process the good stuff.
- Flexible Stereo Routings: Switch between standard L/R, Linked, or Mid/Side modes to clean up splashy cymbals out wide while leaving the center vocal beefy and centered.
- Instant Session Launchpad: Comes loaded with 23 rock-solid factory presets covering vocals, acoustic guitars, snare drums, mix buses, and mastering chains.
⚡ Pro Producer Tip: Master the Delta Check
Engage the Delta monitor right away while tweaking your Selectivity and Depth knobs. You should only hear the nasty, ear-piercing ring or harsh metallic scrape. If you start hearing the sweet character or snap of the dry instrument pushing through, back off the Depth. This gives you tons of headroom without sucking the life out of your transient punch.
