Contribution Synth With Big Love To The Legendary TB-303
Version 3.0 includes improved and resizable user interface, the filter was fine-tuned to sound and behave even closer to the original TB-303, a few more minor performance and sound improvements. Native support for mac Arm and intel processors.

The sequencer part (including the slide and the accent) is handled with midi notes velocity.

Shorten the note length a little bit, so it ends slightly before the next note (like the TB).

One button. A lot of logic: Rand is a subtractive synth with a huge amount of randomness. Parametrized with a sound-design logic to get the most of the results to be usable as a patch. All of the randomized parameters are accessible via the “Edit Current” button.

Strum is Karplus-Strong string synth, written completely in assembly.

Two different and independent string generators for more variety of sounds, with own feedback, string length, attack/decay envelope and vibrato settings. First OSC is trying to simulate basic characteristics of four basic string types – nylon, bronze, steel and flatwound. Second generator uses basic shapes – sine, saw, triangle and square with additional options to tweak (tension & position).

Asper is an experimental synth combining wave table, subtractive, phase distortion and physical modeling for sound generation.

Idea was to add humanization to the sound on oscillator level in order to simulate behavior of real world instrument where each hit is different. It is not trying to simulate sound behavior like in analog synth, but rather to simulate Round Robin.

Instead of complex modulation I decided to split wavelet OSC to two layers that each has it’s own control. This way is you can easily control (for example) attack per velocity without assigning any modulation source. You can detune each layer, enable comb filter, enable pitch envelope or phase distortion to each layer individually. All blending control have individual shape setting for each layer or even inverse mode in order to have different amount or phase while using same MIDI CC or velocity.

XenFont2 is a microtonal SF2 / subtractive synth.

It is a stereo, two oscillator, hybrid SF2 SoundFont & Subtractive Synthesis VSTi that features full-controller MIDI Pitch Microtuning using the MTS (MIDI Tuning Standard) format, where any MIDI Note Number can be freely microtuned to any desired pitch across the MIDI range, enabling computer musicians and composers to explore the vast expressive possibilities of composing music with alternative intonation systems.

XenFont2 is a microtonal sound-designer’s SF2 sample-based synthesizer, with a carefully designed ergonomic workflow for quickly creating powerful sounding and musical useful timbres. The instrument enables users to load their own stereo SF2 SoundFont files and thereby any special timbres required of the music at hand, from classical acoustic instruments, to synthesized ones. Routing the SF2 SoundFont Oscillators through the internal synthesis functions of the VSTi, provides a way to radically transform the original sounds and create new synthesized timbres.

XenFont2 is also an educational tool for learning about computer music sound-design, sampling and subtractive sound synthesis, as well as musical instrument intonation (aka microtuning and xenharmonics).
