Why another sequencer?
Most of the DAW interfaces often seem overcomplicated, and they only tend to get more and more bloated over time. Many of them are commercial, proprietary-licensed and almost none of them support all major operating systems at the same time.

Helio is an attempt to rethink a music sequencer to create a tool that feels right.

It aims to be a modern music creation software, featuring linear-based/pattern-based sequencer with clean UI, integrated version control, microtonal temperaments support, small portable builds and more; mainly targeted at hobbyist composers, game developers and indie artists. BigSeq2 is a  Multi FX gate / sequencer with 12 sequencers controlling 10 effects in six blocks.

BigSeq2 is capable of everything from short staccato gate sequences to long, evolving filter sweeps and frequency shifts, and everything in between.

The six effect “Blocks” contain ten effects in total, and these Blocks can be re-arranged simply by dragging them, giving you full control over the routing of the effects. Each effect Block has a gate sequencer and a modulation sequencer. The gate sequencer turns that effect on and off (or in the case of the delay Block, activates the “send” control), while the modulation sequencer can affect any and all parameters in that block.

• Ten effects in six blocks, each with its own step sequencer, modulation sequencer, and time base.
• The gate and modulation sequencers for each effect block run on their own time-base, allowing different time signatures and step times for each effect.
• Each block has several parameters which can be altered via the modulation sequencer for that block.
• The effects blocks can be re-arranged in any order.
• Each sequencer has three independent modes of operation: forward, reverse, and random step. In addition, each of the twelve sequencers can be completely randomized at regular selectable intervals, for interesting modulation and gating possibilities.
• The included effects are VCA, pan, multi-mode filter, fuzz, sine warp, delay (with chorus and flanger modes), frequency shifter (also providing ring mod and phasing), sample rate reduction, bit depth, and our own “Error” effect.
• MIDI Learn on all published parameters for external hardware control. (VST only.)

MbiraGen is a semi-generative sequencer plugin that produces MIDI notes.

It is based on a sequence of up to 12 “melodies”. Each melody can have up to 4 variations which are selected round-robin. A Melody is a 5×4 grid where the vertical direction indicates note pitch and the horizontal direction indicates time.

Pitches are assigned based on a combination of settings: the tonic note, the scale, the mode, the interval assigned to the melody, and the individual scale degrees represented by the vertical positions in a melody.

In addition to the melody sequencer there is a velocity sequencer, controls for sync time, note length, velocity jitter, note length jitter, and 2 additional sequencers that can apply variations to the melodies as they are being played. These variations provide the drift and randomness that keeps the pattern from feeling too repetitive.

LittleArpy is a monophonic arp/sequencer.
It takes one note as input and shifts it’s pitch according to a sequence, it DOES NOT collect notes from a chord being played and arpeggiate them.
I made this after trying to recreate the “shimmering waterfalls” sound from Ozric Tentacles which can be heard easily on their song Crackerblocks. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to achieve so I made LittleArpy instead.
The shimmering waterfalls sound can be approximated by making a minor or major sounding sequence and running it at fast speeds (1/64-Dot) through delay and a reverb with mostly only the wet signal on, then moving the Bandpass Filter around.
